Several classic films:

James Coburn stealing the bike in The Great Escape;

John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara swiping a tandem in The Quiet Man;

but my favorite has to be the rasta cyclist who rides up to the cop locked in his own trunk and starts blowing pot smoke into it through the bullet holes in Thelma and Louise.

Steve Carrell-The forty year old virgin-opening sequence- commuting to work with his 4 mirrors, plastic basket on the rear, and his really, really high handlebars.

What about the classic scenes of Timmy riding along with Lassie chasing him. That was really inspiring to a young boy. Timmy had utility bicycling down pat.

Well, if nobody else is gonna say it, I will. To tell the truth, I've wanted to for some time. There's a lot of riding to like in Breaking Away.

Butch Cassidy showin' off to Etta doin' ride tricks and crashin' into the fence.

Etta: "Butch? Do you ever wonder if I'd met you first we'd been the ones to get involved?"
Butch: "Well we are involved, Etta. Don't you know that? I mean, you are riding on my bicycle. In some Arabian countries, that's the same as being married."

A music video: "Love Generation" by Bob Sinclair.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-iXahMekSBA
That and of course the scene in "The Longest Day" where the French Resistance lady distracts the German guards as she cycles by.

That's like one of those things you'd accidentally see as a kid that would scar you for life. Creepy.

Postman Blues

Sort of a Japanese version of a 70s chase movie, only with bicycles instead of mustangs or pickup trucks.

Only in Japan.
