Ugh... My rack just broke...
The stay to the rack broke. It is an Axiom streamliner road. See it here http://www.axiomgear.com/product/rac...uct.php?id=142
The stay just snapped, it is really, really weak. I would not recommend it..... I knew a rack like this was too good to be true. Only $30 too... Anyway, now I'm in need of a new rack. Looking for something under $50, would love if the color was silver/grey/chrome. Would not like one of those racks with a platform that doubles as a fender. I saw an older Blackburn EX-1 somewhere a while back I was drooling over but can't find it anymore. |
Oh yeah, I'd also have to be able to mount a tailight in the back.

I'll be watching for replies, as I think I'm looking for almost exactly the same thing as the OP. Something light, attractive, even the same colors (my bike is silver/blue) just so if I want to do a light grocery run or something I don't have to take the car. I have braze-ons, not sure if the OP does or not.

There's a lifetime guarantee on their products. Take it back to where you bought and exchange it against their Journey one. That's a much better rack, similar price. Been going strong for two years now.

I swear by the Blackburn Mt. Rack. I have two old ones that I swap from bike to bike. If I can't kill it, then it's got to be tough.
ETA: Lifetime guarantee...take them up on that, esp. if you can upgrade like pluc said. |
I got it off a guy on ebay though... I'll give it a go anyway.

I use a Blackburn Expedition 2 rack and although they are supposed to be bomb-proof I have snapped one of the welds between two stays. Nothing that some electrical ties didn't fix and still works perfectly - I might get around to claiming on the warranty eventually.
