Noo B Bob here

There are a lot of reason to bike, but gas prices bring me here. I just bought a Raleigh C500 for my 8 mile commute to work. I live on top of Ohio and its a little bit hilly here but not bad. I traded a Trek Navigator 200 that was three years old in at the bike dealer that sold me the C500. I was surprised my Trek had a resale value and they gave me $150 for it.

I was a biker when I was much younger. I lived in the Mojave Desert and did a lot of mountain biking with all of my Air Force friends whom I miss very much. I was in great shape way back then and rode a lot on and off road all with my mtn bike. I even rode in the Rosarito Encinada Ride once. It has to be the coolest thing you can do on a bike, what an amazing experience.

Most of my commute to work I dont even see other cars or bikes for that matter. I go down quite a big hill and its a blast. Eight miles took me 35 minutes the first time and now I go in 25 and still working it down. I carry my work clothes in a back pack and dress when I get to work, wear mtn shorts and a l/s jersey for the ride in.

The trip home took me 45 minutes when I started and and that is down to 35 today. Its a mile longer to get home to avoid the big hill climb.

A large majority of the people I work with live 30+ miles from work and cant bike-commute like I do. But everyone seems to be checking out my bike parked in one of the car bays. I love my C500 its the only 'road' bike I have owned and I love the flat bar road bikes everyone is selling these days. My tires are 37-622 but I would like to get something with reflective sidewalls for the added safety.

Sorry to ramble, I love this web site and I love biking. I should have started a long time ago riding my bike to work

peace,
Bob
