S & S Coupling in NYC?
I would like to SS my crosscheck but I live in manhattan. Is there any shop in NYC that does SS?

Contact S&S or view their website -- they should be able to give you a list of places that are authorized. If there isn't anyplace local, Bilenky Cycle Works in Philadelphia does a ton of S&S conversions -- possibly the foremost shop in terms of S&S work.
PS - you should have just got a Traveler's Check - it might be cheaper to just buy a Traveler's Check frame and sell off your Cross Check frame.
PSS - you're probably going to need to find a framebuilder rather than just a bike shop - most shops would outsource this work to a framebuilder anyway. Suggest maybe post in the framebuilders forum for suggestions on NYC-based builders that work with S&S.
