Sometimes... the good things... :)

Sometimes after hearing all these sad stories, and everyone arguing about everything, etc.... there is a light at the end of the tunnel, captured in the smile and laughter of a child.

I was riding home today, and while riding down the street, i saw a little 2 year old girl being pulled in a waggon by her dad. as I rode by, she got really excited! She pointed and started smiling and squealing and looking at me. Her dad smiled at her, and got her to wave at me. She was loving it!

This, of all things, made my day. The sound of a child's laughter got me on a huge happy-high, and I didn't even notice my hunger pains and burning quads.

just thought I would share.

I know exactly what mean! It seems any child under the age of 5, whether in a wagon, on a bike, or walking beside their parents, loves to watch me go by and yells, giggles, points or all of the above... Sometimes it is the little things that mean a lot...

I was complimented on my bike by a child shortly before I failed a jump, bent a fork and cracked a rib. Sod children, they're bad omens.

Likewise... when it's nice outside and I'm commuting home along the bay, I almost never think about gear. Instead the bicycle just sort of disappears and I just enjoy the ride.

Bicker at home. Bicker at work. Bicker online.
Get on my bike and nothing else matters.
Stick my kid on the back and the fun gets even better. Likewise riding with friends.

I get lots of smiles and waves from kids and adults alike, because they think my recumbent is cool

I see a guy going the other way a few times a week pulling a trailer with his dog in it. The dog looks like he really enjoys the ride.

I find these little things were a lot more exciting and enjoyable when riding as a child.
