There's no doubt at al that this qualifies as a full fledged Fred or Fredette ride. All that is missing is the wire basket on the front of the handlebars.

If you're looking for something only a hair over the ability of a beach cruiser then sure. But the wide saddle and pogo stick under it will really get in the way pretty soon. Now I'm not saying that you should get a full on racing bike but something a hair more geared to riding and less to coasting will probably reward you more over the years as a bike you enjoy.

Something more like...

Or even jump right into a front suspension 29'er and then swap out the knobbies for some 32 or 34 hybrid tires. This combo would be a nice bike to grow into and with. It will be as slow and "cruisy" as you want but it'll push harder if you get the urge.

Or if you're really after the casual look and feel why not jump right in fully?

looks like a standard hybrid which will work for groceries and commuting. Not fast but very comfortable for short rides. might be same as BD hybrid gazelle
seller has a couple bikes that BD carries.

The bike= so so.
The price= nice.

I guess for me it would depend upon on how far I was commuting.
