Bike Storage what do you do?

I'm asking more about home storage, what kind of system do you uses.

I store my good bikes in my bed room(collage kid). I need a way to store my bike & still have alot of space. still.

Im looking in to getting a rack like this.

I used to hang my old 27-inch 10-speed from a hook in the garage just over the hood of one of the cars. Now it's leaning against the wall in a storage space at the back of the garage.

My newer folding bike that I use for daily commuting just gets parked in front of the shorter of the two cars in our garage or occasionally hung up in the wall-mounted service stand. It clamps the seatpost.

I got a decent folding rack system like this one at Lowes for about $7.

It really depends on how frequently I use the bike. My normal commuter (Giant Kronos) just gets rolled into the garage next to my work bench. My old road bike and occasional commuter are going to be strung up so I can raise them to the ceiling of the garage. We have an abnormally tall garage due to the structure of the house (18') so I can get them out of the way pretty well once I actually get around to installing the system.

But, for now they're all just rolled into the garage next to our riding lawnmower and the R6 that one of the people living at my place this summer owns. Admittedly, I like her bike better

If you have alot of bikes that spend more time in storage than being ridden,I recommend one of these:
https://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...temnumber=2628

Great way to store alot of bikes in a reasonable amount of space, but a PITA to get to the ones on the inside.

If you're going to be taking the bikes on/off daily,I recommend these:
https://www.deltacycle.com/product.php?g=52

Easy on/off,very stable,no marks or holes in walls, can even do some maintenance with them.

I use something similar to the OP's rack, set up in the foyer between my door and the door to the building. I lock them to the rack. The landlord is starting to make noise that I should move them.

Little Red (folding bike) stays inside the apartment.

Let's see... I currently have five of these in the garage.

I typically keep three bikes and an unbuilt frame on them. The bike I rode to work that day leans against my house next to my front door. When I switch bikes I put it on the empty hook and pull the one I'm switching to down.

That leaves me with two unbuilt frames not racked. The bike I carry my daughter on sits on the floor in the garage on it's kickstand with my wife's two bikes and the kid trailer. The Big Dummy will join them whenever I finally finish it.

I use "bike Hooks" which are just large C hooks that screw into the studs, in my garage I have 2 2X4's across the wall at different heights about a foot apart. They are attached to the studs, the hooks go in them you can then hang more bikes in a small area. Kind of like this, and it cheap and easy to pak for next year.

I lean my bikes on my roommate's bikes that never get used :-). Back in college, many of my friends that had small apartments/dorm rooms rigged up hoist systems (all you need is some climbing rope, carabiners, screw-in eyelets, and a few pulleys...very cheap overall)...many slept with bikes hanging over their beds. There are some really nice pulley systems out there. My friend just installed a few of these in his garage:

not joking! at my apartment there's 4 of us in a 2 bedroom. with a total of 10 bikes! it's crowded to say the least. and if i work late at the shop, i have a fold out cot here. so i sleep next to my bench with whatever bike i happen to be working on still in the stand next to me.

I have 5 bikes in my apartment clustered in the dining room. The most frequently used ones are on the outside, the least often used ones nearest the wall. I have 4 runner rugs to absorb any dirt.

That type of rack can be kinda shaky if it is round tubing.

The kind with rectangular tubing is very solid- i recommend.

https://www.pricepoint.com/detail/136...Wall-Mount.htm

I used to use ladder hangers screwed into the bare studs in my garage. One pair per bike. Now that I have 6 bikes, I replaced each pair of ladder hangers with the Delta double bike hangers.

Up until this past weekend.... in the living room. But I've got 2 more coming this weekend so it is now outside under the car port all chained up. Four inside was just gonna be too much.

I use a minoura bike tower and repair stand, I think you could get 3 bikes on the tower depending on the ceiling height as the main pole is telescopic, but I don't have the third hanger hardware.
