Clipless shoes that look... normal?
I was thinking about Clipless pedals, but the shoes have kind of turned me off since they are so goofy looking, and generally not made for walking around in. Do they make shoes that are more like sneakers? Ala asics, adidas, chuck taylors.. etc etc etc?

The answer to your question is yes, but the selection isn't too great. A couple I like are:

Yes.
Search the forum or the sites of specialized, shimano, etc. It's been discussed considerably. |

I just ordered the Adidas Minrett...I like the way they look and I like the way my Adidas road shoes fit. As they haven't arrived yet, I can't provide any real input on them, other than the pictures looked cool.

buy clip-on shoes, ride to/from work with them. use them for other rides as well. (action/time have worked for me, but i am specific to spd)
for commuting or touring, i carry in/over panniers a regular pair of shoes - sneakers. change to dry/clean shoe/sox keeps the toes happy! works for me! |
I love my 661's they look like crosstrainner shoes, and the clips are low enough that I cna even walk on tile floors. Got mine "cheap" form pricepoint

I like my clipless shimano sandals. Good stuff but my feet hate them on longer rides over 30 miles.

I've been through a few pairs of Casual SPD shoes and now sandals over the years. What I've found is that the features that make them perform well on the bike are the exact things that make them perform poorly off the bike.
Stiff soles, a bit narrow, eventually the soles wear down and the cleats click and scrape on the ground, oh and they can look pretty bikey. But since I insist on riding clipless, like many others, I simply keep shoes at the office. It's really the way to go. |
Dunks. i like the black and gold.
