I know how to tighten my brakes and loosen them, but I don't even know how to take the pads out. Theres some sort of pin, but I don't know how to get it out. HELP PLEASE!! I have a trek soho 1.0

Brakes are Avid M415, mechanical disc w/Shimano EF50 levers on the SOHO 1.0 I show the replacement as follows:

A pad should be replaced when it’s total thickness (backing plate & friction
material) is less than 3mm.
To remove the pads, back both adjuster knobs all the way out (counter-clockwise,)
then squeeze the pad tabs together and pull both pads straight out of the caliper.
Reverse the process for installation of the new pads. Squeeze the brake pad/spring

clip assembly together then press firmly into the caliper until it “clicks” into place.

Sometimes there isn't enough room to pull both pads out at the same time. If you can't squeeze the tabs and pull them out together, just grab one and pull it out, then the other. Make sure you get the little spring clip/retainer piece out with them when the second pad is out. put the new pads on the clip and squeeze them together and then put them in place. You will hear an audible click when they snap into place. If you do it wrong then the pads will be too close together and the rotor disc won't fit in. My only other suggestion is to try and keep your fingers and any dirt/grit/oil off of the pad surfaces and the rotor surface
