The 150 Watt Drop
Yeah. I dropped a guy today. He was riding the MUP on a cruiser, you know, the traditional single-speed type. His rear tire was half flat and his seat was low. He had baggy pants. I pretty much blew by him.
Anyhow, I just rang my bell on my way by. He didn't even turn his head. I feel pretty jazzed up. :D |
Why?

Meh, I outdid you big time last night. I was on a sidestreet, and passed someone when I was doing about twice their speed. Of course he looked like he was about 3, had training wheels on his bike and was going so slow that Dad had a hard time staying balanced without pulling too far ahead of him. I told him he looked good before pulling away - how's that for adding insult to injury?

I just got back from work a few days ago and decided to run to the LBS, I was going slower, since I had already done 30ish miles on hills on a singlespeed...some guy pulled a brand new road bike off the rack of an explorer at the path and burned me in the 6 mile loop the path makes....
I bet he felt good about himself too. Looked pretty impressive in all that spandex and $2000 bike for such an intense trip... |
This one time I passed a guy, he must've been 80 or so, walking on the greenway with a cane.
I am vastly superior to 80 year olds with canes. I feel much better about myself when passing them. |

I got passed at an instersection by a guy on an old road bike wearing blue jeans, a t-shirt commuting home last night. I just caught up to him and rode his wheel to retain some dignity. I must be slipping . . .

I drop Ferraris at stoplights on my cousin's 50cc Vespa. That's right, my $4,000 piece of Italy is better than your $200,000 piece of Italy. And if you doubt that then just look at the fuel savings.

on a grocery run this week i dropped a dude in a motorized wheelchair - bonus ego points b/c he was on the sidewalk.

I eat babies.

I feel pretty jazzed up. :D See, I was on my single-speed cruiser last night, carrying a huge bag of gold that I found, which made my tire about half-flat. Then, someone blew by me really fast. Between the bell they rang and the speed in which they were riding (was that you?), they couldn't hear me say, "Hey, this gold is heavy. Do you want some of it?" |
Did you tell him "can't touch this"

What a coincidence. I think that was me.
