Commute-Roubaix
So I hop on my bike & start my commute for tonight when I get to the highway & see what's ahead of me. I totally forgot that they are starting to repave the highway. The next 5 of my 7 miles was on scraped & knurled pavement all on 25mm tires . I shook, rattled, bobbled & bounced the whole way. It was actually a nice ride, different but nice. :thumb:

You should have listened to Rattle & Hum by U2 on your commute.

It's no fun on 28mm tires either. My route to the supermarket takes me through some bumpety-bumpety sidewalks for about a mile. Having ridden both sides of the street, the right side definitely seems to be in worse condition than the left. Oh well. Builds character.

He .... I also forgot that they where fixing the main road here where i live ... and I was already committed full steam ahead.
go carbon fiber and aluminum!!!!!! the trick was to stay off the saddle |
Try riding faster. Sometimes you can find a speed where you just kinda skip across the tops of the bumps. I've tried it here with some brick roads that used to rattle my filings out at 15mph. At 20+, they smooth right out.

I've ridden on scraped pavement for about 4 miles on 23mm tires with an aluminum frame. Worst 4 miles I've ever biked. It's not quite as bad on 1.5" tires (my other commuter) but still sucks. My cruising speed drops about 4mph and signalling lane changes becomes a real b!tch.
