Another new commuter at work.
Well we have another new commuter at my job. Just last year he said he could never imagine cycling to work, he lives about 5 miles away. He bought his first bike with my help this Summer, a nice entry level comfort/hybrid from Performance Bike. He kept talking about it & talking about, so I encouraged him drive his route first & check for any possible problems & ride it on a weekend morning with less traffic.
So I come in to work this morning & Steve comes walking up to me beaming asking me "guess what I did this morning?" He was proud as hell & deservedly so, he's a big guy & didn't think he was in shape enough to do it, now he knows he can. He said it was a source of pride for him & nice to know if his car ever breaks down he now has an alternative.
He also mentioned he left at 5:30 for fear of being late but he was surprised he was at work by 6:00. Work doesn't start until 7:00.

Good for him. Hopefully he will stick with it. Then before you know it he will find a route that is twice as long to get more miles in.

That's what I'm worried about...our building houses several thousand employees (various companies) our bike rack holds 5 bikes, and there are usually 4 of us there already.
