New Salsa Casseroll Build
Well, it's finally done. Pics are a little weird since i didn't have the ideal white garage door to take pictures with... The wheels are currently off my other road bike. I won't be building a new wheelset for it until later this year.
I wasn't quite sure which forum to put this in so i picked Commuting since the Casseroll is occasionally mentioned. I don't plan on really commuting on this bike (at least not regularly) since i've got another bike for that already. The Casseroll is going to be my light touring/century bike (and the bike i take to Hawaii next month). http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...0080821_99.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...80821_99_2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...80821_99_3.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...80821_99_4.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...80821_99_5.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...80821_99_7.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...80821_99_8.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...80821_99_9.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...0821_99_10.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...0821_99_11.jpg Frame: Salsa Casseroll 2007 Front Derailuer: Shimano 105 Triple Rear Derailuer: Shimano XT SGS Shifters: Shimano Dura Ace Downtube Levers (9 speed) Brakes: Tektro Long Reach Calipers and Tektro R200A Ergo Brake Levers Crankset: Shimano 105 Triple (50-42-30t) Cassette: SRAM 11-34t Saddle: E3 Gel Seatpost: Thomson Elite Stem: Truvativ XR Headset: Cane Creek S-2 or S-3 (don't remember, bought it earlier this year) Handlebars: FSA Wing Alloy Bar Pedals: Crankbrothers Candy SL |
Looks good except are you comfortable with that saddle setup? The nose looks tilted up way too far.
|
nice bike. if you start feeling numbness in your nether regions, lower the nose of the saddle.
|
Yeah, the saddle is going to take a while to adjust since i've never used an E3 saddle yet. All my other bikes have the nose tilted up slightly. Tomorrow is the shakedown ride to make sure the saddle height and angle are adjusted.

Diggin the Casseroll build man
|
Nice job! I agree that the saddle should probably be closer to level to give the *ahem* boys son room to breathe. :thumb:
Beautiful bike. |
Nice. I've seen Casserols in the bike shop and they're good looking bikes.

No fenders - wrong forum:welcome Nice bike. I wonder what is different between your Casseroll and my Vaya. Maybe tire clearance? I know the Vaya has disc brakes, but other than that they look very similiar. |
This thread is 3-1/2 years old and the OP hasn't posted to BF in a year.
Still, Casseroll was one of the frames I was considering for a FG commuter so I enjoyed the photos. |

I hardly ever look at the post dates. I go by what pops up on top in the Commuter forum, so I just heep on the old posts:crash: |

Usually what happens is somebody will be doing a Google search on a bike brand or question and find an old BF thread and respond to that... usually they're not already members so they have to sign up - the poster that topped this thread has a post history of "2". I like that the old posts are always available, it just doesn't make sense to respond to someone who isn't ever going to see what you wrote. |
I thought somthing was up with a new bike build and its the old casseroll color scheme. Love mine its blue though.
