Good haul today...

I got my new seatpost delivered today. It's a Thompson Elite setback seatpost. My Trek 610 actually fits now, which is awesome.

Along with this I got a SKS quick release rear fender, which is for both bikes until I get full fenders for my Trek 4300. And I got a Park floor pump, so I don't have to work so hard to top off my tires with the Road Morph.

And finally, I got a bottle cage for my Trek 4300.

So all that makes for a good day. :D

Any new gear you guys got recently?

I'd gotten a new PB Super Flash last weekend to supplement my PB Blinky which of course decided it wanted a new home and hoped off my bike sometime Monday night on my ride home.

Sorry to hear about that, but the PB Superflash is a great light, you'll like it. A 2nd one is on my list, this time it will be the Stealth model.

I recently picked up:

1. A cheap rear rack from Nashbar for $13. It has a dedicated bracket to hold my dynamo tailight.
2. 1992 Paramount PDG-70 Mountain bike
3.1989 Paramaount OS R

3.1989 Paramaount OS road bike (My non-commuter)
4. 1994 Trek 920 Singletrack Mountain bike
5. Xtracycle conversion kit

As I type it all out, I realize I may have a problem.....

Got the SKS Race Blade fenders for my road bike/commuter and wrote a review. Also, just got a green special edition (with cooper rivets) Brooks B17 new off Craig's list for 1/2 price. Hope to be reviewing that soon to.

The $13 rear rack, is it black? Also, does it have a plate on the top or is it just the grid style?

The rack was silver and the top is covered halfway by a plate, the other half has a grid.

My pretty new Rocky Mountain Metro 30, like all uprights, was giving my hands problems, so I got a cheap $15 North Road-style handlebar. Of course, changing the cables on my fancy hydraulic brakes cost about $70 all told. Grrr! I do love the power, modulation, endurance, and rain-proofness, though.

With the new riding position, wrists are much better, but I think it's starting to bug my lower back (an issue I was aware might come up). So now I'm looking at getting a Brooks sprung saddle to soak some of that up. And I've known from the start I'm going to want to get a smaller chainring, as I have a trailer for this puppy. It's meant to be really, seriously an all-rounder.

Ah, the never-ending cascade of upgrades . . .

For brakes I'll be getting some Kool Stop pads and a set of Dual-pivot sidepulls for my Trek 610. The way it is with the single-pivots right now, I can have a deathgrip on both levers in the rain and slow only slightly.

And the plan for the Trek 4300 is to get a black rear rack, a set of full SKS or PB fenders, some Armadillo slicks, and another PB Superflash. Then it will be a full-on commuter.

And then I need a Chrome Ranchero. Riding with my backpack in the rain this week sold me on the idea.

Too much good stuff, not enough money... :(

I'm a total slacker here, I've only got one new spoke lately. But I did a lot of looking while I was waiting to have in installed!
