Fenders on a Surly Pacer
 

I love my Pacer for commuting (and just took it on my first 50 mile ride Sunday, so I guess I'm starting to like it for more than just commuting!) but would like to add some fenders. I know that 28's are supposed to fit with fenders on this bike according to the folks at Surly. I picked up some Freddy Hardcores, but they don't quite clear the wheel underneath the brakes. I'm kind of a noob when it comes to bike gear, so I have no idea if I have short or long reach brake calipers- maybe that's part of the problem. What fenders have people successfully put on this bike and would recommend? Thanks!

Amen on the pacer, I love mine, too! I haven't put fenders on mine yet, but I was looking at the planet bike 35mm cascadia road fenders. What size did you get? Because I held some 45mm's that I had laying around up to my bike and those did not fit under my brakes (I'm pretty sure I'm running short reach calipers. I think the 35mm's should fit. Otherwise, shoot the guys at surly an email. They might be busy right now getting ready for interbike, but they're usually pretty quick with a response.
