...a very large woman with a cigarette in one hand and a cell phone against her ear in the other. No helmet, riding on the wrong side of the road. Every now and again she'd rest her cell phone hand against the handle bars to lift her cigarette hand for a toke. I was rendered utterly speechless, helpless before this audacious display of fearlessness.

Good luck, ma'am.

Every morning, my grandfather would ride his 1-speed cruiser (with the rusted basket full of hand tools) up and down the boardwalk in Lavallette, NJ. Plaid flat-cap, tank-top, plaid cutoff shorts, dark socks and flip flops... Lucky Strike hanging from his lip the entire 6 mile trek. 3 blocks from his house to the boardwalk, 5 miles up and down the 'walk, and back home for breakfast.

Ahh I can't wait to go back to Holland (thanksgiving every year). The dutch are tall, they smoke and the hottest women riding bikes on their cell phones with high heeled designer boots and trendy clothes. Only in europe.. sigh.

I ride my bike in Holland each day, and just the smell of a cigarette annoys me. Women clearly haven't realised yet that smoking looks SOOOO un-sexy. They MAY look hot, but with that cigarette, my interest is gone. Same goes for the phone.
Besides that, it's become some kind of new fashion here to have songs on your cell phone, with the speaker on. Anywhere, anytime... I hate it...

Please tell me that young beautiful girls in Holland aren't smoking in these modern times!

What a let-down that would be. You see a beautiful girl floating along on a bicycle and then... GAG!

By the way, THIS is what Dutch girls are supposed to look like, not some smoking tramp in high heels. THIS is the Dutch girl I want to see in Holland:

Why not include a picture of yourself, so I can contrast her "grace" with yours, that of a Real Cyclist!

Unfortunately, the kind of girl I mentioned is everywhere around me. From 20 hot girls that I see during my trip to work, only 1 or 2 are non-smokers.

Better doing that on a bike than in a car.
