Lumotec IQ Fly or Innloed 10+ ???

I'm about to order my dynamo hub and lighting setup from Peter White. I'm trying to decide between the Lumotec IQ Fly and the Innoled 10+.

Opinions?

If you're getting a SON hub, the Inoled 10+ requires a secondary over-voltage protector which costs an additional $23. Plus, by PWC's own admission, the 10+ is really no good past 25mph so if you have any long downhills on your commute you'd do better with a brighter lamp.

The IQ Fly is insanely bright, costs less, and doesn't require any add-on protector boxes, no matter which hub you attach it to.

I just installed the IQ Fly and can't say enough good things about it. FYI, Peter White was reportedly out of the IQ Fly. If so, I got mine from Harris Cyclery.

Peter White seems to actually deal from his own stock rather than letting his webpage act as a pass-through from QBP or whichever supplier. Not really clear of too many other online bike part vendors doing that. Universal Cycles seems to sell things they actually stock too.

I love my FLY IQ! Insanely bright. Enough so that cars slow down when meeting you to look at you strangely....

Based solely on reports on Peter White's web site and the beam photos posted there, I'd vote for the IQ Fly.

Cool. Thanks for the feedback. I know d2create likes his Fly too. I think I'm sold.

Now... any downside to running an unmatched wheelset? I'm not in the mood to kick down for the matching rear wheel...

A Fly is a good choice. I switched from an Inoled +20 to an IQ Fly. I couldn't see in rainy weather with the Inoled so I changed as soon as the IQ arrived but my Edelux is the favorite now. It seems like an Inoled Extreme would be more comparable to a IQ Fly.

I have a 27x1 1/4" wheel on the back and a 700cx28 on the front. I'd say that's about as much mismatch as you are going to see. There really is no way to tell that there is a difference.

It hasn't hurt my ride over the past 20 years. Can't remember the last time my wheelset has matched...
