Funny Reminder of My 1st Commute
This was the first day I actually commuted on a real workday. I get in, and when I peeled off the previous day's cartoon on my calendar, this was what I got.
I have it hanging up in my office, and it's always good for a laugh.
Finally got around to scanning it and sharing with you guys.

I wear a road-id wrist band on my commutes - my wife says that it is so that when they find me in a ditch by the side of the road, they will know where to send the parts.

I wrote ICE and my spouse's cell phone number on my leg band, so they'll know who to call when they're sponging my remains off the pavement. Of course, I hope they can read it through the blood!

I carry no markings. I like a good mystery.
Seriously, I keep my ID in my bag when I ride. I've thought about the ICE thing but I haven't put in it my phone.

ICE = In Case of Emergency
If a cell phone contact is labeled ICE, someone will call that if you are hurt.

I wear a Medicalert. I've had two seizures while riding, so you could say that the need is there.
I'm tempted to hang this in my cube:

I bought a RoadID tag and recommend it, but if doing it again I'd just get a cheap dogtag. They're available easily online for like $5, and work every bit as well as the acid-etched $25 RoadID.
I prefer the dogtag style; I don't trust that my shoes would still be on me after an accident (for the shoelace version). The ankle strap version looks good though.

I put a label inside my helmet, keep another information sheet in my wallet, and have the ICE entry on my cell phone. All three are with me whenever I ride.
About the only thing that I can think of better would be a tattoo - hopefully in some place that usually isn't a collecting point for road rash.

I got the RoadID ankle version. I figured with Dog tags, one could lose those in a crash, the shoe bit, same thing - the wrist would work fine, but I haven't wore a watch for 12+ years. As for the phone, ID in wallet and such, the phone might not be with you after a crash, same with the wallet - some Emergency People might not even look through your stuff, afraid of getting sued or accused of stealing something.
Just my 2 cents...or should that be 2 dollars now days?

Dude, that cartoon surfacing on that exact day is freaky!
I carry a clear waterproof wallet. Visible through the outer material are the phone numbers for my wife and my doctor as well as medical allergies.
