What were they thinking?
I was just out cruising through town on our MUP that happens to pass by a park full youth soccer fields when I came upon a bit of a road block. I was really upset because this is not an entirely isolated event since the pathway shares the pavement with the parking lot for the park. I was steaming and I just couldn't get it off my mind for the next several miles. The driver of the two vehicles were nowhere to be found, so what I wanted to do was "accidentally" drive my bar ends into their paint jobs, but I took the high road. How does every one else handle a situation like this? Should I have just ignored it and chocked up to lazy idiots or should I have done what I wanted to teach them a lesson?

Take pictures, call police. Any decent department would have been able to issue tickets. Of course, decent departments aren't always easy to find.

There is plenty of room to ride between those cars. Is it really worth getting all upset about? There will always be people in this world who will do things you disagree with, getting upset about small things will only hurt you in the long run.

put the local PDs non-emergency number (typically the police departments phone number that isnt 911) into your phone and call them next time to report it.

Around here I have to keep my eyes peeled for the idiot drivers. There are a few places where the exit out of a shopping center will be a right turn only but people will continually make left turns out of them. I even yelled at a driver yesterday for doing this he looked belittled. But sometimes you just have to let it go otherwise it will just cause unnecessary stress and lead to ulcers.

that's just regular grade inconsiderate behavior, really
You could print off "youparklikean*******" tickets from the site with the same name. Those are fun to issue.

Tell them to get on the sidewalk. Throw your water bottle at them.
Really i would just be glad I knew where they were so they could not run over me.

Wow... a few really childish responses here, I'm hoping a lot of them are more tongue-in-cheek than they seem. What lesson are you going to teach them by any form of vandalism? You'll teach them that there are jerks who vandalize cars for no good reason, they won't understand the context.
Did this actually cause you any harm? The cagers here are self-centered and something should be said to them. How about a professionally worded note left under their wiper blade? How about calling the local PD like others have said? Think about it, they're probably not bike riders so they may just be completely ignorant. People who don't ride don't realize the ramifications of their driving/parking on bikes. Politely inform them and they'll be likely to listen, move their car, and maybe even apologize. You have nothing to lose by this kind of response, you've got a whole lot to lose if you resort to any of the above-mentioned vandalism (including possibly arrest or getting the snot beat out of you if they see you).
Water off a duck's back man... keep on riding and keep the smile on your face, you've already given this too much of your energy.

emergency situation that requires an emergency window punch tool.
except I don't think it's that big of a deal since they're immobile.
I'd be more concerned with aggressive drivers.

For minor offences like that, minor vandalism is the order of the day. I'd just knock their mirrors out of alignment. Note: passenger's side is more annoying than driver's side.

Two H's!!! TWO!!!!!
Yep. When cyclists "block the road" they get honked at, yelled at, run off the road and perhaps even run over.
When cagers "block the road" their mirrors get knocked out of alignment.
Seems a pretty fair deal to me.

Yeah, vandalism won't teach them anything. Hitting them in the wallet by taking pics, notifying the police and having tickets issued will.

1+ to calling the police and asking the cars to be removed. They only way this gets fixed is with aggressive ticketing and towing. I guarantee it will get around the first time the police tow one of these suckers.
Even if you don't get a response at first, keep calling. The squeaky wheel gets the grease on this (I speak from experience.)

Maybe, but based on my experience the sign would have read "No motor vehicles after this point", or something along those lines if that was the case. But that doesn't necessarily mean that the sign was poorly worded. . .

I would never, ever, advocate any kind of malicious behavior like, say, oh, stealing all the valve cores of their tires.

I think your issue is with the city. If they shouldn't park there, there should be a "No Parking Sign" and/or paint on the road to indicate as such. The "No motor vehicles" sign refers to the path.

Fake parking tickets as realistic as possible, with funny message aspects, seem to work very well.
