Differences between motorcycle Kryptonite chain locks and bicycle locks?

Hi, so I was shopping for a new chain when I ran across this:

https://store02.prostores.com/servlet...ail?no=1068251

Apparently, this is a motorcycle lock, not a bicycle lock, but it seems awfully similar to the Fahgettaboudit bike lock I was eyeing. It's also much cheaper. What's the difference?

Says it right there, Motorcycle Accessory Warehouse. Not bicycle. Just because it's the exact same thing don't think you can use it on your bicycle. Completely different. Yeah...

If you go to the Kryptonite website, they have the exact same lock listed under "Powersports" and Bicycles, with the same text each time. Kind of amusing.

Because people will pay more. Sorta like very low level grey market goods. Well, actually nothing like grey market goods. But if I call something a bicycle lock, it is now in the "bicycle" market. This allows me to charge a premium because people who ride bicycles are naturally crazy. I haven't actually checked but I'm pretty sure you can see varying costs on things like headlamps, probably within the same store, depending if you're in the camping, hardware, or cycling sections.

Man you should see what they do to prices when they put the "Marine" stamp on them. Simple stuff... like stainless steel shackles suddenly go up astronomically as soon as you put them in a boating store vice a hardware store. Even something as common as WD-40 gets premium priced.

This is why I bought weightlifting gloves instead of cycling gloves, and a high powered flashlight instead of a bike light. They work perfectly on the bike, but don't come with the silly markup suckers...I mean cyclists...pay.
