Missed my commute... :(

Title says it all...it's a bummer. I have to leave by 7am to arrive in a timely fashion.

1. The morning toilet run arrived late. Just couldn't get the Enola Gay off the tarmac.. From 6:30-7, I kept waiting....but nothing... She finally took off around 7:15

2. At 7:00, I said screw it...I can still make it...i'll hit the toilet at the office.... then i noticed all the bike shorts were in the wash.....

ah well..it's cold outside anyways.... If I had left at 7:10 (10 min to get ready) I may have been caught off guard around the 7:15 mark by an unexpected bombing run...I hate when the body looses its 'regularity' I'm not a coffee drinker, so I can't use that either....

anyhow...this is something we all deal with...but rarely is spoken off...lol

Hopefully tomorrow all systems will be a go for a regular take off!!!!

Little Boy is ok for work, but you should always try to limit your Fat Man dropping for home.

I have a terrible digestive system and everything attached to it.
-Train your body to go at a certain time
-Eat a bowl of high fiber cereal in the morning.
-Keep your water intake high
-Eat 30-45 grams of fiber a day.
-Lots of fruits and veggies. Less meats.

In the search for determining a method to make my stomach happy I turned vegetarian by accident. lol

Keep a journal of what works for you and stick to it.

My 2 cents.

SouthFLpix 10-28-08 07:08 AM

I woke up 25 minutes late today also, but I still had time to cycle. I normally wake up well before the time I have to be out the door, so oversleeping just means I have to skip breakfast or reading the morning news online. That being said, I'm hungry...lol.

Hobartlemagne 10-28-08 07:17 AM

Very strong coffee or tea drunk as early as possible can help get things moving.

IMHO I think we should stick with that approach.

No one forced you to read his thread.

LMAO @ Little boy and Fat man.... I hope nobody gets offended by my use of terms...

randplaty 10-28-08 11:06 AM

No way, I always save the big stuff for work.

They're the nicknames for the nuke bombs dropped on Japan.
The Enola Gay dropped Little Boy. They didn't name the plane that dropped Fat Man. (as far as I know)

Pig_Chaser 10-28-08 01:10 PM

I don't have that problem; I'm so regular, they considered using my bowel habits as the basis for an international time standard. I think they went with an atomic clock or something though.

Forget that little stuff. I just dropped a 20 megaton H-Bomb here at work. I think I cracked the bowl.

Yeah, it had a nickname: Bock's Car.

Bockscar.

I mentioned this topic the other day in my thread about getting motivated in the morning. There have been more than a few days where I have my gear on, ready to taxi out the door and all of a sudden.....damn it.

By the time I'm done, the launch window has past. Commute aborted. Where are those damn car keys.

The worst case is when you just know the bomb bays are full, but you just can't the doors to open. So you have to sit around the hangar and wait.

rugerben 10-28-08 06:10 PM

Well, as long as we are al being honest here, I can't release bombs unless I can shower afterwards. I just find it too gross.
I mean, think about it. If you are barefoot and you step in sh... on a bomb, would you be ok just wiping it off, or would you want to wash your foot? You'd wash right?

Same thing applies. I can't be happy just wiping off. I must wash in order to be clean. If I don't get to shower afterward, I just feel gross all day until I can take a shower. I actually think it's disgusting not to shower after.
it kinda groses me out that most people (ie. people not like me- who wash after), walk around with...bomb residue on their bomb-bay doors because you know you can't get 100% with TP right?

I'm so lucky that my GF feels exactly the same way I do. How did I manage to find a girl who also does that.

Fiber is your friend Mac. Take a little generic sugar free orange flavored fiber ever night and you can thank me later. ;)

So I have to ask... do you save this stuff up all day? What happens if you have to go at lunch? Have baby wipes entered the equation at all?

Fascinating. Absolutely fascinating.

They got these things called underwear. Perhaps you've heard of them. And yes, those skidmarks wash out, pretty much.

When it's time it's time, it's a force of nature over which i have little control.

Like pigchaser, I have conditioned my body to be very regular. I wake up, take care of stuff, and then take a shower. If I've already "dropped a bomb" once in the morning, there's no way that I'd have to again until late enough that it would not cause any discomfort to just hold it till i get home. I mean, honestly, how many bombs can a guy drop in one day?

Tude 10-28-08 09:55 PM

:) I guess ... TMI is in order --- had to read it a couple times as I've fallen asleep - forgetting EVERY pair of shorts/tights was in the wash and OH NO all was wet and didn't have time to dry and ... and ..

oh ... :D that's what you were talking about. :D
