Cannondale Sizing?
 

Hey,

I'm wondering if someone off the top of their head would know the answer to this question. Yes I know to get measured and try it out blah blah...

So would a person 6'3" fit a size L '08 Cannondale Bad Boy Disc?

I can't recall the size of my current bike... I know it's got to be at least a large, but maybe an XL...?

Could you just measure your bike's dimensions, and compare it to that chart?

Defiantly, but I don't have my bike; it is in for repairs.

Personally I've found Cannondale's run small. At least in the smaller sizing were I am. Medium is too small and Large is a bit big. I'm 5'9". Using that as a rule of thumb and seeing you're 6'3" I'd say XL. Really depends on torso length, it's the top tube clearance/length that's going to drive it.

I'm just under 6-0 and I test drove a Large Bad Boy Ultimate this year before purchasing the F3 for the same money and at the same size. I have a 32 inseam. I would think at your height, an XL would be a better fit. JMHO I found the BBU to have a very stiff ride even with the Head Tube Shock. Look closely at the frame spacing front and rear and you will see that you cannot add a very wide tire at least not in the 700c series. I found for the same money the F3 had better specs and for my money and application...a better ride.

You going to use it street or off road?

Off road you should be fine with a Large....One road...maybe not.

What is your inseam?

Bad boy has the slant top tube with a long seat post. I'm 6ft (34 inch inseam) and my 22inch M400 is right at the limits of being tall enough for me now that I have made it a commuter. That said..top tube on Cannondales are long. Even though my pedal to seat distance is right at the max for my bike I have the seat pretty far forward and I just put a 80mm stem on to keep me from riding too far up on the seat and I am running trekking bars.

I'm 6' and both my BB's are L's,but they're Ultras. I'd guess an XL for you.

BarracksSi owns a BB Disc,and he bought my slightly-to-large-for-me Schwinn DBX that was an XL. PM him and ask him what size he rides.

How are the Bad Boys, mainly the disc spec without suspension. I've always had my eye out for one, but they are pretty pricey. Do they have eyelits for a rear rack/front and rear fenders?

You're right in between a L and XL on a Bad Boy; depending on your reach, you may or may not want a different stem, too. I'm 6'1"+ with a 33-34" inseam -- I have an XL but put on a shorter 90mm stem, and I fit great on my size L Rush with its OEM stem.

Yup, they've got eyelets for fenders and a rack. The rigid fork has a mounting hole in the crown for a fender, reflector, dynamo headlight, or whatever.

Like SUNCOAST said, it's a stiff ride, which to me feels like it'll take a beating. Fast, nimble, and with MTB gearing, it makes for a great downtown bike.
