Got this Miyata Folio (folding bike) yesterday. What caught my attention is the OGK rims, folding pedals, and anti-swing mechanism. So far I have the OGK rims in sizes 26x1 3/8, 26x1.75, and this time in size 20x1.75.

Update on Miyata Folio. Changed to chromed handlebar and aligned the OGK rims. Painting schedule by next month.

The Miyata Folio size 20 was stable even with OGK plastic rims. Although the aligment was not that perfect it rolls smoothly compare to the other size 20 folders I got. I just have to source for stainless fenders and carrier to complete the bike.

This type of reflectors are usually installed on kids or teens bicycles. I'll try to install it in one of my retro bicycles.

Now going 2 years using the China-made Wanda Tire 27" X 1+3/8" , I have to say that it passed. I have used it in 38C day, and it performed well carrying myself, the bike and 30lbs of baggage 20km under the hot Philippine summer sun. The white sidewalls have begun to crack and slightly peel, but the tread and the inner plys have held. The tires have around 1000km estimated use and atleast half tread remaining. I hope this information helps !

hi to all and mang boy,
after more than 1 year of using the china tire, i must say that it is ok. I have had no problems with the wanda tire. My problem with is with the china inner-tube(interior tube). My china inner tube only lasted 3months. Upon inspection of a flat, i saw that it was not caused by pointed object, but by poor quality. The inner tube was very thin and i could see future holes in the thin tube construction; where mold marks very thin material. The rubber material itself was decent, it was just too thin. Objectively, i decided to measure the weight of the irc-japan inner tube (240 grams) -vs- the china made(170grams). This proves the thinness of the china tube material. I repaired the japan tube and tossed the china tube. But, i still use the china tire (exterior) |
