I was involved in an accident where, the county DOT had left the original concrete base of a traffic light still in the ground AND in the sidewalk. Since then, I had my bike fixed, went out to the location, took pictures with my digital camera, and sent them to the DOT Director.

He fully agreed I should be reimbursed for the damages to my bike. I wonder how much longer, before I get the check from the county.

Ah heck, cheer up! You should have your check in 5 years - 10 tops! ;)

Maybe longer given the inability of municipalities to float bonds, TAN's, RAN's, and BAN's on the market.

Depends on 1, is the DOT director authorized to disperse county monies to individuals on his own authority, and 2, did he "agree" in writing?

and 3, if you get the check, will it clear ;)

Have you looked into retirement.... the check to you has.
