Mirrycle Road Mirror for sale again?

I just did a google search for the Mirrycle Road Mirror, and got some interesting results.

The Mirrycle website still has the recall notice up, saying to check back in the fall. A few Internet vendors still have the product listed, but you can't buy it since it is under recall. But one link took me to Amazon.com, where Garden State Bicycles is selling them. I ordered two, and got am email notification that they have shipped.

If these mirrors are back in production and are for sale again, they are a great product for anyone with STI brifters. If for some reason I am getting two pre-recall mirrors and they aren't back on the market, then I am still very happy. My other pre-recall Mirrycle Road Mirror is serving me well. So well that I get upset when I forget to transfer it when switching bikes, hence the purchase of two more.

Here's the link to the Amazon page: https://www.amazon.com/Mirrycle-road-...7115012&sr=8-1

OMG! I love it. I use STIs but have a bar end mounted mirror. Works pretty good.

Do these vibrate much? (subjective I know).

Why the recall, BTW?

I use the bar end style and yes they do vibrate... so no you cannot see the eyes of the motorist behind you... but none the less, the quality of the mirror is much like that of any good motorcycle mirror... and I find that under most conditions I can just glance and get a good idea of the conditions behind me... enough to know whether I should bother to turn my head or not.

I really miss that mirror when I am street riding my MTB for instance... (no point in putting one on the MTB, it wouldn't last)

The only time I thought the vibration was excessive and effected the view was when I was going over railroad tracks (three sets in a row). This mirror is great! I really miss it when I grab a different bike and forget to transfer it over.

Sadly, However, they are still under recall. The vendor that just shipped them to me sent me an e-mail asking me to return them, he just now learned of the recall (I probably bought the last two and he attempted to re-order). He said that tomorrow he would mail out a prepaid return label. I replied tonight that he should save himself the expense of sending me return labels, I won't be using them!

A while back, on BF, I saw an email exerpt that claims the mirror can get excessively tight if you fold it in and out repeatedly. Tight enough to damage the brifters somehow, perhaps. My solution to the recall was to get it where I wanted it, then never move it. If they ever come back on the market, I might ask to exchange them, but till then, I just love my "bootleg" Mirrycle Road Mirrors!

I guess it's my lucky day?

Well, I am not skinny in the least. Nor narrow of shoulder. Think about where the mirror sits, down to the side of your hands on the brake hoods . I set it up so that I see a small amount of my lower torso in the mirror. Since it is well below the shoulders, they don't get in the way. It is an inch or two to the outside of your brake hood, visibility is good. The best part about it is the very clean and simple install.

On a side note ordered the 'German' mirror from Rivendell recently....I'll post my impression and a few pics when I get it, hopefully soon.

German mirror? I have heard of the Italian Road mirror, but not the German mirror.

Oh, found it on the website. Looks like it gives you a large view.

Yeah looks kinda promising, I got a gnarly four lane cross I have to make on my way home, hope it will give a little help on that. I've considered a helmet mount mirror but they kinda worry me in the event of an accident.
