Not that it matters too much, but that last photo of the lady holding the supposed 1998 bike is not correct. That bike is either an '07 or '08 as well.
As long as you are over 6 ft tall (that is the 22" L/XL model), the bike sounds like a great buy http://www.blackbearbike.com/photos98.html I shouldn't rely too heavily on the implication of the URL, I suppose. If I had looked more closely at the other bikes, I probably would have realized. The tuba story is priceless (of course, if you hadn't been able to recover it, the story wouldn't be as funny.) Anyway, thanks to everyone again for straightening me out. Glad I was off base on this. I'm just a hair under 6'. I'm going to find a Trek dealer with one of these today and see if I can fit on the 22.5" frame comfortably. If so, I'll be snapping up this one. If not, since people seem to really like these, I might try and track down a 20" version for a similar price. I need to take my old '84 Schwinn Sierra off commuting duty, it's both too big and set up wrong for that job. |

Now this makes me wonder is it possible to use say a NYFU chain or such to lock up a tuba?
Inside its case is another matter, though -- there just ain't much to attach a lock to. |
