Well, that sounds neat. Of course, like most multi-use designs, you have some compromises, but I agree that being able to ride with regular shoes is a big plus.

I still use toe clips (cages) on some of my touring and out-and-about bikes for that specific reason.

In fact, I have some bikes that only have platform pedals for around town.
