Found a cool bike in the store today with a unique storage area
Seen in Okinawa Japan at a local sporting goods store. The bike is called a Ringwood.
It has two frame posts and the area between them is used with a heavy cloth shaped into a storage compartment. I'm sure this has been done before as I know nothing is ever really new in the bike world but it's new to me. I pulled one of them out and sized it up and it's pretty small. Too small for me. I'm guessing they cater to little old Japanese ladies or something with this bike. Still it's cool and worth a look. John http://homepage.mac.com/hagensieker/...c/ringwood.jpg |
Bow legged bicycle riders anyone?
I'm a little surprised they don't have pedals on them. Would the market for this bike actually use something other than platforms?
They do come with regular pedals. They probably just keep them off to keep little Japanese kids from riding them around the store.
Holy chainwheels, batman
I'm still looking at it...and I still don't get it.
Wonder if the frame bag has drain holes.
Drain holes??? No way! I looked at that and immediately thought of a few iced down brews.
Then add a velcro top! :)
I just noticed,it does have a velcro top.!
I used to have a predilliction for stupid stuff. I wish manufacturerers would offer more colors in nylon bags like they used to. Basic black, good for funerals?? |
Finally, someplace to put that 60 amp lead acid battery that I use to power my 100w halogen.
That's pretty cool, except that you couldn't ride it. I especially like the Pepsi bikes in the background.
Maybe it started as a mixte kind of an idea, and somebody said, "Hey, if we just widen these a little, and add some fabric, we can make it really uncomfortable to ride."
I'm not so sure it's unridable. I bet my knees would clear that storage area thing.
Looks like a good place to store your nuts while you ride.

A good spot to let your little dog ride. Or maybe a purse.

Maybe a couple of sandbags in it could help with winter riding?
Finally! A place to put my baby!
