My new Sanner 1x9 SUV;
I just ran across sanner bikes on the net the other night. Nice looking lugged or tig welded frames for reasonable prices. I might be looking to purchase one in the future. |

well, have the lights on it now....love that engineering going on there heh heh heh. modified the cherry bomb for rack mounting ( i was busy doing custom attachments that night ). lights work very well, spotted a freebie sleeved heavy-ass chain on the side of the road, appears to be the same type as the NY locks chain, probably left by a roadside work crew. all i need is a damn good padlock. all i have left are fenders, and i want to brite-bike the damn thing. |
Nice Weekend to go to the beer store

Was a nice day over the weekend. Took 24 bottles of Heineken and 33 cans of Kokanee back to the beer store. Then got 24 more bottles of Kokanee using HybridBackpack. Try shoving all those bottles into a Pannier or trying tying it down with bungee cords. HybridBackpack did its job here.

I guess I can post a picture now. I'm pretty sure this is the bike and the setup I'll be using for the rest of the season ... (two fingers crossed)

Surley, LHT that is one year old now. I pulled the frame and fork out of the box and started chipping the decals off! O-yea, Surley racks and I make the bags.

Sanner Bicycles [newwaybikes.com] is a small builder of lugged steel frames in Palo Alto, Ca. Picked the completed by up from LBS on April 1, our weather has been a little uncooperative [rain, snow and wind] so I've only ridden a couple hundred km. So far a very comfortable and satisfying ride. |

1978 Panasonic Tourist converted to SS. First time I've commuted in 6 months, lazy. Think I'm gonna put drop bars on tomorrow to better battle the spring Kansas winds. |

Hey anaheim flash - How do you like having your pump mounted there? hey, what's up, and how is my tin donkeys brother? still liking those drops? i have had that pump for over a year, and it has never gotten in the way where i have it mounted now, it fits between the top tube and the crankset with no problems. i wrapped the tube with electrical tape to keep it from sliding down in the bracket. handy for quick top-ups and emergency repairs. |

anaheim flash - my brother from a different mother ... :-) the drops are EXCELLENT! I had to get a steerer tube extender though because they were too low. Now they are just right. here's a picture. I actually raised them another 1/2" from this picture yesterday.

I like it, but I would love it with a SA 3 speed.
Very nice. What kind of fenders are those? A 3 speed would be great, but anything is better than the FFS it came with (which i destroyed pretty quickly). |

Try it - you'll like it!
I got lucky with drops from an old steel Ross 10-speed; meaning: they were the right diamter to flip the Rapidfile shift/brake combo. I did have to replace the cables and housings too because the flip requires more cable looped up front by the bars. Also the steerer extender was a must for me. I am 6' tall with 34" legs. Now I'm thinking about how long these Rapid fires will last and what would berequired to swap with other levers and shifters and do I have to change the brakes then. I'm thinking this setup should last the season. Hope I'm right! :-) |
