Welcome to the forum. Nice bike. It'll be way nicer once you spin your fork around.

Ha!

Didn't even notice about the fork. Unfortunately, I have to loosen the handle bars and turn them sideways due to tight storage quarters. I brought it out to wash it when I took the picture and the front wheel swung around on me and I didn't notice when I straightened the handle bars. Fortunately, I didn't make that mistake when I rode it this week.

I really need to find a better storage solution.

TenSpeedV2 08-01-15 11:20 PM

^ that is going to get really old having to redo that every time you store it. No other option?

you'd be better dropping the wheel out rather than loosening the handle bars.

I went to a Niner demo at my LBS, the guy from Niner was loosening the stem and rotating the bars every time he got a bike back from demo and put it on the rack. I thought that was weird, he had to pretension&straighten each bike when it went back out, in addition to customizing the suspension and installing pedals.

Here's mine: 1989 C-dale SM2000 I have no idea but I'm pretty sure the cranks, derailleurs, stem, shifters, brakes, and levers are the original parts. Maybe wheels too. Bars are for sure new. Rack is crusty

Excellent! That Cannondale was my first real MTB! I put a Manitou 2 shock on it and rode it like crazy. I think my sister may still have it in her garage.

As art, I think that's pretty dumb. I would 'appreciate' it more if it were commissioned by a bagel shop that wanted to attract customers and brighten up the neighborhood. And I like how you caught some bikes behind the sign (especially the guy with the gut bigger than mine)

leegf, I love your fixie. And I guess I've been passing those bagels without noticing them. What street are they on? I see they're in the Hudson River park.

I "fixed" my wife's old point and shoot digital camera, and brought it with me to take some pics of my bikes.

Gravity Liberty FB. I bought it in May, and I like it a lot. Not sure if I'm going to put fenders on it.

My newest...got for $10.50. Wasn't sure if I was going to keep or sell (got 9 others in the lot to fix up and sell), but after riding it, I kind of like it. Trek Soho Single Speed

In 2014 they replaced the Soho single with the District S - I think they only made it one year. Not exactly the same frame but pretty close. Trek doesn't make anything like that now except for Earl which is steel. Anyway I like mine more and more all the time - if you don't already have a similar ride I suggest you give it a chance. Hard to ride no-hands though... probably the high BB... but that keeps me from scraping pedals since I have it fixed.

Ok...shipping will be about 250 in that case :-P
I found an estate sale on CL - 14 bikes for 300. A friend of mine split it with me. When we got there it ended up being 20 bikes, assorted wheels, 2 huge bins of parts and 2 car racks. Was able to sell off 2 in the first 48 hours, but I think the Soho will stay with me for awhile

Cool! I noticed it also has bosses in the fork. I do plan on keeping it at least for awhile. It's kinda nice having something so light compared to the early 90s mtbs I usually ride around the city. It's so weird not shifting in areas I usually shift, but the simplicity is nice.
