Still haven’t replaced my hybrid winter bike that was stolen in October. My wife hasn’t been using her bike recently so I fit a long stem and seatpost to her bike and test rode to work on it today (all with her knowledge and permission). Pretty nice! Only bike in the stable that will fit my studded tires at the moment.

Budnitz e-assist bike arrived just in time for New Years. I set it up for my winter commuting with 45Nrth studded tires and a rubber Selle Anatomica saddle.

When I use the mobile photo upload, my phone gives me the option of making the pictures smaller. If I don't choose it, they are huge files, but oriented correctly. If I pick a smaller size, they are disoriented. *shrug*

Oh, all the fun things I miss out on, by using a camera as a camera and a computer as a computer......

First post pic, first bike and rode 10mi to work earlier. Bought the bike used for $300, replaced the grips, added a bell and kickstand. Loving it so far

I build up this Soma Fog cutter about a week ago. It is over kill for a 10mi (round trip) commute, but will also serve as my road, gravel, long distance bike. I still need to replace the stem (current one is borrowed) and mess with the spacers (maybe cut the steerer more), but it feels pretty good as it is. It sits next to me at the office, so it is secure.

I can’t tell you why but it’s normal. Surly Cross Check and Straggler and the bike formerly known as Novara Randonneur are the same way. So are some Soma bikes.

This picture came out better than I had expected. This is my 1974 Raleigh International which I built up from a frame and fork. I also painted it. It is locked here outside a school that I visited on Tuesday, on my journey to become a school teacher when I grow up.

cool can you rotate the pedals a full rotation with that stand? Or do they strike the ground or stand?

Miele Man 01-30-20 10:26 PM

I have an Old-School MIELE MTB that now has a dropbar, and Alivio (older style) V-brake calipers and Tectro V-brake levers that I use for getting around in winter. I have it shod with 26" x 2.125" knobby tires. In summer or after the snow season I often put 1'5" slicks on it. It then makes a faster commuting bike or a nice touring bike.

Here are two images of it before I put the V-brakes components on it.

Finger slipped on the Shift key. LOL Thus should have been 1.5" not 1.5'.

Cheers

Actually, it does, and even better, they were in use! And clearly, these are middle-school-kid-size bikes.
