2002 Lemond Wayzata

How much should I offer for a 2002 Wayzata in perfect condition? Or what is a fair price? Should I compare it to a Poprad? Is $450 too much? Thanks

$450 seems high for a seven year old Tiagra hybrid.

I've never watched the prices, but would expect a Poprad to bring a premium over the Wayzata, based on name recognition and drop-bar preference. Depends on how much you're willing to pay for that steel frame.

Thanks for the reply Jeff. I couldn't put a value on the bike. It looks brand new, but it is 7 years old.

I didn't know a Mpls suburb could have a bike named after it

Sugg retail at the time from my info shows $1099, so my guess is that it was probably on sale for 8-900. The Poprad was $50 cheaper and had Sora components, if that makes any difference...

BTW if you want to pronounce it correctly, it's Why-zatta or why-zetta

That's where Lemond is officially based, or was based, or whatever...

I'm not sure what that actually means in this case though. Where Greg lives, where his lawyer lives... ?

Off topic but:

Wayzata is an upscale suburb west of Minneapolis on the shores of lake Minnetonka, LeMond lives there, or did for a long time.

In general Wayzata and the entire area around lake Minnetoka (which is huge) is really a popular road riding destination. Many of my favorite local weekend road rides are centered around or go right through there. The roads are great, the views are nice, and the drivers are used to seeing cyclists and for the most part they are pretty respectful.

Might explain why he named a bike after it.
