Tire size for Mavic CXP22
I have a wheelset with CXP22 rims that I plan to use on my new Salsa Casseroll for a commuter/all'rounder bike. My question is how large of a tire can I use on these rims? The Mavic site suggests recommended tire widths of 19to 28mm. That said, would I be able to put 700x32 tires on these rims?? Thanks!!!

Yes.

Sheldon says: not recommended but probably okay.

I used a pair of CXP22 rims on my Pug Single Speed. Ran everything from 23c racers to 32c CX knobbies, no problem.

THanks all for the input - I'll be setting ups some 32s now!:)

You shoudl be fine. I run my 35mm Nokian's on Mavic MA-3's. they are my winter set up, they have the exact rim width measurement as the cxp-22's. I have had no issues. I also have a set of cxp 22s they are my summer wheels. having the same width makes swaping sets easy.

i run 35mm vittoria ranoneurs and Panaracer tservs on my weinmann sp17 rims that are the same width. it seems just fine. i read somewhere that the narrow rim with wide tires defeats the purpose somehow, but i don'tknow... it now rides softer over rough terrain.
