Worth the wait - LOCKERS!!!!

It took almost a whole year. I began donationg money each month last summer, and now they are finally installed!!

The company has a Not for profit arm, so my donations were tax deductible

I really didn't miss the money too much, but I sure am going to enjoy first class bike parking from now on!

Final cost was about $1800 per locker, each locker accomodates two bikes with their own lockable door. So about $900 per bike. There are some lockers that are total plastic shells that are a bit less expensive, say around $1200 per two bike locker, but the grounds manager picked these from:

Possibly because of the Fiberglass reinforced plastic construction which is fire retardant, possibly becuase they just went with the first catalog on top of the pile (I really don't know).

But I commute in style from now on, no monkeying with bags, locks, lights and such when I get there. So, don't wait around for someone else to make your bike commuting life better for you, team up with other commuters and provide for yourselves. I found the building owner and managers more than happy to accomodate and help out. In fact, they provided the concrete pad and installation for free when I donated the lockers.
