crank brothers candy's-tough to unclip?
i just had a new pair of candys put on my trek fx and i have to say that
i'm not impressed- i did quite a bit of reading on them and how they have quite a bit of float
and how easy they are to use. i put my bike up on the trainer to try and get some practice with clipping in and out and i noticed what a bear it is to unclip. i feel like i have to rotate my foot 90 degrees out and yank in order to get my foot to release. i had been using m324's previously but developed an it band issue and my doc suggested i get pedals with more float. anyone have any tricks to making it easier to getting in and out? i should also mention i did get new shoes as well- i trimmed off a bit of the rubber sole to make it easier but that didn't work too well

Try flipping the cleat around on the shoe. They are asymmetric so that you install them one way to make it easy to get out and the other way to make it easy to say in.
Crank Bros stuff is also much easier to get out of if you aren't putting much weight on the pedals.

yeah definitely look at the cleats. I have the candy's set on the harder and (I think it's 20 degrees maybe??) and I have no problem at all getting out of them. I originally set them up with the easier angle and I really didn't like how easy that was to pop out.

If I remember correctly, you change the release angle not by flipping the cleat itself around but by swapping which cleat is on which foot. I have candies also and I did find it awkward to get out at first but once I got the hang of rotating my foot rather than pulling up I've had no problems.
