Rear bike Rack

Well GF lives a state away and there is a sale going on for bike racks + they don't have tax. I just need help figuring out how to tell her what bike rack to get...I have a Trek 7100 hybrid with 700X35c tires and a 51cm. Any tips?

I've always liked how the Topeak bike racks that that easy on, easy off system with the bags. (You don't have to wrap and unwrap velcro, the bag slides into a track and then you just press a button to release it)

Which topack rack? The nearest store to here that sells them is 1.45 hours away (but it is on the way).

You can also order the Topeak from REI, I use the Topeak seat post rack with navarro panniers. Works great for my daily commute

REI delivers to nearest store too so you can save on shipping

Bike rack as in rack for the rear of the bike, or as in rack to put the bike on a car? The nomenclature is pretty interchangeable.

I agree on the Topeak stuff for the bike. Yakima or Thule for the car.

It's my understanding that all topeak racks have the attachment system. Just to be sure to also buy a topeak bag. You could call the store you're going to, to - they should know 100% for sure.

If you can, you should call the shop at which your GF will be buying the bike rack. Talk to a salesperson about your bike and your needs and have him or her suggest various racks that might work for you. (If you can, you should use the Internet while you're on the phone to the bike shop to look up and look at the models the salesperson suggests). Then pick out a rack. That way, your GF only has to go into the shop and buy the rack you've already picked out.
