Ninja sightings!

So far this week I have seen two people on bikes, one looked like a regular commuter, nice bike messenger bag the other looked like a drunk on a kid’s dirt bike.
Both of the sightings where before 5 am, dark, traffic, not light one on either bike.

The “commuter” bike looked brand new, at least it had reflective tape and he was riding the sidewalk, the drunk was riding in the emergency lane of a highway going against traffic, wearing a black sweatshirt and blue jeans, not even a reflector on the pedals from what I could tell the bike must have been spray painted flat black.. I wonder if he is still alive.

I am far from a safety nut, but if you are going to ride in the dark you need some kind of light, some of us might feel bad if we run over someone.

I see guys on my commute in the AM with no lights all the time. One guy has a nice bike, nice stuff and seems like a rider. He just dresses in dark clothes. no light of anykind and no reagard at all for traffic laws. It is his third year riding I know of.

I think Detroit is soooOO trendy for BMX kids to ride down town. I think they all paint thr bikes flat black and thrash about from the sidewalk to the street and film each other with little thought to safety. The ones that stick to the plaza and out of the way of cars and people are fun to watch though. We do have are share of drunks riding in town and one I can think of "Larry" has a schwinn varsity that is going on 3 years with NO tires! I will try to catch up with him and take a photo of his wheels worn down to ribbons, and spoke nipples!
