Anyone know anything about Derringer Cycles?

http://www.derringercycles.com/index.html

A friend of mine was showing this website to me.
I'd be curious as to how fast it goes and how noisy it is as well as what the emissions are like.
A lot of the time these things are worse than cars, yet they tout them as being "green" and alternative forms of transportation. I did a search and didn't find any posts about them.

Would you actually buy one?

From a styling standpoint, I think they're pretty cool looking. Can't see myself riding one though.

Just found out about this today. Extremely cool. No idea on price.

I've never ridden on a mo-ped before, but I've often wondered, is the engine getting hot a concern? I'm worried about burning my self on the engine or the exhaust manifold, and this vehicle doesn't look like it has any protection from the engine heat at all! There is something appealing about the retro look though.

Polished terd. That's about all Van Anz is good for.

If I wanted a scooter, I'd buy one.

According to mythbusters you can polish a turd. Maybe it's time you reconsidered an underpowered motorbike, err, a scooter.

An expensive Turd.. The engines are around $200 and imported from Red China, The bike although custom is not more that $500 (and I'm being generous.). It all polishes up rather nice though!
