Thanx...What kind of blinky are you running on that Christmas Eve remix vid? That thing is uber-bright.

The camera does stay surprisingly steady. Are you a mountain bike with suspension or did you mount 2" tires on your surly?
I pretty much ride the same streets as Joey. I live fairly close to City Park. He is going over some rough bumpy areas. I differ from Joey, and most, in that speed is not a concern of mine. I don't necessarily obey laws but treat most traffic signs and lights as meaning yield. I don't criticize him. At least he rides in correct direction, with traffic (except when he crosses the line), many don't, here. I don't wear a helmet and he does, so maybe I am the dare devil. |

I wish I could get 10 cents every time I read a BF post bashing Joey's riding style. Wouldn't make me a millionaire, but might just pay my cell phone bill. :D

Joey,
First, I love the video. It's smooth enough that you can barely tell it's mounted to the handlebars. You can tell a little more shock is transferred than when it's helmet mounted, but not too bad. Also, I like that I don't get dizzy from the camera whipping back and forth at each intersection. Second, I'm impressed with how easily you let all the rantings and criticisms roll right off your back. I suppose eventually you come to just expect and ignore it, but it never fails to amaze me that when you post a new video the "you're the reason they hate us!" crowd comes crawling out of the woodwork. Keep up the good work! Tom |

Keep up the good work! Tom As far as me getting beaten up EVERY time, I fully realize the cultural differences in cycling from city to city. I am very familiar with my town. I am somewhat familiar with a few other big cities including Los Angeles, Seattle, NYC, and San Francisco. I would not bike the same way in Seattle as I would in NYC. I am certain that folks in Seattle hate cyclists because of how they do it in New York or New Orleans ;) I am very happy that my bike vids make people think. I get a fair amount of PMs from folks who do not want to go public thanking me for giving them some little idea (like how to position themselves in a lane for instance) that makes their commute easier and safer. They might even tell me they think I suck in general BUT they picked up some tidbit that helped them out. At the end of the day - it's worth the effort to me. Thanks for the post! Joey |
