Commute Bicycle race

Oh, and not sure about the ads/banners on the site, so you might not want to go look at work.

Well that is a tread killer.

That prank is just too funny.

Bwahahahahaha!

The look on their faces is priceless. Especially that initial look of panic.

That's hilarious . I don't know what I would do though, would I get off onto the side and let them pass or do I sprint hard and pretend that I won, until I find out the jokes on me?

It looked like there wasn't much opportunity for them to get out of the way either with the crowd cheering you in.

How'd they get that many racers into a truck anyway?

That is what bike to work day is like at some of the local "pit stops" around here... it gets nearly that crazy and yeah, it is very encouraging.

There were a few more cyclists on the road locally yesterday... Folks got out and "upped the ante" so to speak.

If I time it right on occasion I'll see a nice peleton forming a chase behind me from the local club training ride. They usually will catch me at a light and then they'll go off in front and I'll attempt to chase a bit.

I don't think I saw a single cyclist this week except on a little social ride I go on which is after work and leaves near my house.

No, my commute is not like that, EVER.

My 13 miles commute is sometimes like a sprint.

Usually those pranks are pretty lame.

That one was nothing of the sort.

Hiding the peleton in the back of the truck was a nice touch.

I had something similar like to that happen on a ride once. A friend and I went for a long ride, and it turned out that part of our route on was on the course for a triathlon. We passed several aid stations, and people were cheering us on and handing us water bottles. It was pretty comical because we were drafting each other, which is not allowed in time trials.

You were probably driving the race officials nuts, trying to get your race #s, so they could disqualify you both.
