Nashbar Trekking Handlebar is no more??

So I bring up Nashbar with the intent to buy their trekking handlebar and I can't find it anywhere on the site. If I search the forums here, it looks like the last time anyone mentioned it was March of 2009.

I suppose I missed my chance to pick up a new (and cheap) handlebar. What gives?

I got mine from REI. I think they called it a Safari Trekking Bar.

The Titec H is ok, it's somewhat of a PIA to get in the right spot though. There is another Titec called the J which doesn't have the riser, much nicer

The J-bar looks nice with lots of relatively upright handlebar position. Expensive, but nice.

I had an LBS install the Titec H bar a month ago and so far I like it. The shop wrapped it in cork tape, which is OK, but I might try something different like the elk hide or cork grips offered by Velo Orange.

A friend tried talking me into the trekking bars because he really likes them for long distance rides. We'll see if I made a good decision or not.

One thing to note is that often products leave and come back later on Nashbar. It may be back in a couple weeks.

REI doesn't seem to sell them anymore, either.

eBay has them now. I bought one from the guy selling them and it was nice. I think his user name is ChaserTech or something like that. Made by Kalloy. Good deal.

Right the trekking bar has disappeared before and reappeared. It's all about their stock levels.

I have the trekking bar, I also have the Titec H bar. I am using the trekking bar, turns out the H bar doesn't have enough room on it for everything. I ran into issues mounting the shifters, throttle, brakes, bell and horn. so I went back to my trekking bars. The trekking bars came from e-bay, the H-bars came from Nashbar.

The H and J bars are pretty cool, but i think those trekking bars are just hideous things.

Not pretty but they are a comfy bar and easy to set up on a mountain bike.

I'm trying to figure out how the shift/brake levers would get on the bar...

I've seen them with gripshifters at the ends of the bars. However, I put my bars on facing the other way and use road levers the same way you would on mustache bars.
