You're probably faster than a Clyde on an electric scooter.

(Can't imagine one of those things would really get haulin' if I plopped my 250 pounds down on it)

Not trying to be mean, but what can you do about it? People will be people. He's just riding around not hurting anyone or bullying people (like you are ). What I don't understand, is why pedal bikers act so darn snooty. The scooter and moped riders won't run over you(they have to pay attention to where they are riding too). So what if he's fat? at least he's not sucking up tons of gasoline with a SUV!

I wouldn't worry about it too much. There's a good chance it will be broken and collecting dust inside of three months. This is one instance when you can thank your lucky stars for lousy Chinese quality of manufacture.

good point about it being broken in a few months. There were a lot of mopeds out last summer when gas prices were so high, they seem to be gone now.

real nice. I know a person who has a spinal cord injury from a drunk driver nailing him while on the bike.

now he has gotten fat, on painkillers, and all he can do is use a wheelchair or ride a mini electric scooter.
that is the only way for him to get out and about

so think a minute about who you are calling fatty, dips**t

They have posted rules on my local MUP and they specifically DON'T allow this type of behavior.

Trail rules:

Stay to the right of the trail.

Dogs must be on a leash no longer than 6 ft.

Pass on the left.

No fat people on electric scooters.

Motorpacing an electric scooter would be great. If:

* it could maintain a speed of 25 mph
* for more than 10 miles
* it was ridden by someone who was safe, smooth, and would call out holes, debris, etc.

I don't think this is likely to occur. But it would be great.

Was this around the Dunbar area? I may have encountered the same person before...

You mean 20MPH.

Fattie?

Wow.

Read your post.

Try using complete sentences, you tard.

(Don't like that? It's no worse than yours. Get a soul.)

Suspend me if you need to. I'm tired of this word getting tossed around on here.

The cyclists on our MUPs ride so fast that other things like squirrels, rabbits, pedestrians, joggers, seniors walking dogs, soccer moms with children or people on motorized scooter thingys are simply too frightened to use them...

It looked vaguely like that thing. Not a bicycle. No pedals etc. Motorized vehicle.
The scooter in the link is a 100% legal e-bike, at least here in Ontario. I think scooters of that type are a little heavy and sluggish to be safe mixing it up with pedestrians on the MUPs but don't mind them using cycle-only paths or lanes.

But then again, that scooter would be slower, lighter, and more maneuverable than a tandem.

Get even, leave 'em behind. I've yet to encounter an electric version of these things that I can't pull away from. They're legal on the trails here, but most of them top out at 20mph, and if they're maxed, the battery is quickly depleted.

But more importantly, here is someone at least trying to do the right thing by not driving a car. Some of these vehicles have pedal assist meaning that just maybe the rider is getting some sort of exercise that they would not get in a car, and they are not emitting exhaust, at least from the vehicle. And, as I'm sure most of you have witnessed, stupidity and reckless riding does not require an electric motor.
