looking forward to better weather and a different bike
I may not get another full week in until August but I'm looking forward to getting the tire mounted on my new wheel for the converted hybrid and commuting on it again. Maybe 1 or 2 days the 2nd week of July. From what I recall, it is fairly light and faster than the old steel Varsity I've been using this past month. I'm hoping the new 36 spoke wheel will be able to handle the rigors of a few days per week commuting.
I decided not to go for the mint '80s "World" I found. I've goo too much steel in my basement right now. If I get another bike it's gonna have to be a brand new road machine for speed or an older chromoly framed 12-speed
Trying to figure what what to use for long summer rides to the beach on the cape. I'm torn between stripping down my LeTour, even getting rid of the racks, just for lighter faster fun. But I do so love to carry stuff like lunch, drinks, suit & towel, and casual clothes for the raw bar at the Beach Comber. If I ride the LeTour again I'm gonna have to check out the creaking and check the BB and pedals, etc. Good activity for vacation week.

mounted the new wheel and tire; rear rack and computer sensor and wire. I just might get a ride in this week if things go as planned ...

Share the road.
I am looking forward crappy weather and getting a new bike (Surly Pugsley) to take on my new manly commute. I am currently stationed in Okinawa which is tropical. I will be living in Cheyenne Wy starting in Aug where it is cold and it snows a lot.

from the tropics to mountain snow? ugh - quite the switch. enjoy the sun while it lasts! you will be stronger for it

I'll just be glad when the afternoon thunderstorm season is over. I don't mind rain, or snow for that matter, but riding in lightning freaks me out.
