Newbie from san diego: just got a bike

I intend to commute 2 miles one way and pretty new to biking
I just bought this bike: https://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes...archive/7700fx for $415
seems to be in almost new condition with just less than 300 miles on it.

Thanks to this forum members for their help n comments.

Welcome, dd. Your link doesn't work for me, but it looks like it should be a great bike! Good luck on the commute.

Not sure why the link is not working but here it is again:
https://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes...archive/7700fx
this is trek 7700fx/2004 model with less than 300 miles on it.
I am excited.
Here is my story to bore you guys:
I live 2 miles from my office and 2/3 days a week I come back to home to take lunch with my family.
2/3 days I am in lunch meeting. so I plan to commute to my office on those 2/3 days and finally if possible commute 5 days a week and get rid of my second car completely.

One question:
The seller told me that this bike was tuned 15 mos back and was never ridden at all, just stored in the garage. Do I still need to tune it then ?

Thanks
DD

I would look it up. I need to get few essentials know like lock, light .
I plan to get used from craiglist to save $$ unless it is very cheap brand new.
Any advice on this ?
