Why I Live In New Orleans (video)

Through my videos I have painted an ugly unfair picture of my home town. Surprisingly, several BFers have been sending PMs asking me about moving here even after the latest two "Industrial Wasteland" vids.

OK...Here's why a cyclist SHOULD move here (for starters anyway):

Don't post this over in the roadie forum, they'd have a field day with the guy riding with the hydration backpack on a road bike. :-)

Reminds me of when I lived in NOLA back in late 90's. Except the day after Mardis Gras. My work was on Bienville, a block off Bourbon St. Had to park a block away and hold my breath and run to the office. Now that was a waste land.

Do you ever ride on the river levee? When I grew up, the levee had a shell road on it, but now that it is paved for such a long distance, it is a nice ride. The levee ride also doesn't have the "industrial wasteland" feel.

Growing up in a small town my mental of image of a "city" was a combination of glass towers and industrial wastelands.

Of course that's not the case. Many cites grew up in close proximity to rivers, harbors, mountain passes, and other areas of natural beauty.
