I find this funny personally.
I frequent Subaru forums, and have yet to see one thread about idiot bicyclists.
Yet, here we have someone driving their car complaining about idiot bicyclists.

Let me see if I can put this in polite terms.
I'm sorry that you dealt with two bad riders while driving your car. I'm not entirely sure what I can do to make them not bad riders, or even who they are or, for that matter, where and who you are.
Since I am currently limited by a complete, and total lack of information I can only say that I didn't come to the forums today to hear about your adventures in driving.
So while I really could have avoided clicking this, I knew in advance that this post would be another:
While I was driving, cyclist(s) did something wrong. Isn't that a shame? Thread.
In conclusion, please consider my apology for being funny at your expense with all sincerity. Unfortunately, you still have come across as an ******* who wanted sympathy for dealing with poor (or perhaps scared? cyclists).
In the future, I recommend you either scream and yell at them about how they should ride in accordance with your standards, or perhaps you should find something to busy your day enough that you don't feel compelled to start "I took a **** and ate lunch" threads.
Sincerely,
Santaria

Congratulations(not sarcastic), you successfully and calmly maneuvered your vehicle around an obviously inexperienced/distracted/inebriated cyclist and his buddy. I hope someone makes the same effort to give me lanespace when passing if I pull some kind of stupid move while riding. Lighten up, everyone, it's just words on a screen. Thought I was in A&S for a minute there...

IMO, BF Commuting list could use an enema on all the gratuitous rants about the trials and tribulations and insignificent slights to the whiners, and alleged misdeeds of the other cyclists and motorists whom they encounter when they venture out of the safety of their house -
Boo Hoo somebody didn't wave; WAA-WAA I saw a cyclist who was/wasn't wearing (fill in the blank); Grr-Grr someone used different equipment than me; Yip-Yip somebody did/didn't ride like I would. Its too hot/it's too cold Yap, Yap Yap.

I don't take offence to such posts. In fact to me I see it as another "Not to do as a cyclist" observation. There seem to be a sense of cyclists are above reproach kinda mentality. A coin has two sides as they say.
OP, if you feel upset at the idiotic behaviour of those roadies, you can always 'wash your windshield' after you pass them. Works great dealing with obnoxious Harley riders. <--- So I was told!!!

If the OP posted to a car forum about how he'd been riding his bike and some driver had buzzed him, how much sympathy do you think he would have gotten? How much scorn? How many people agreeing, "Yeah, no wonder cyclists don't like us!"
I mean, really, what did the OP expect? I imagine that many here would agree that there some cyclists don't ride particularly well, just as most would agree that there are some drivers who don't ride particularly well. The difference is that threads discussing ways of dealing with poor drivers are relevant to this forum, while threads discussing ways of dealing with poor cyclists while we're driving are generally not relevant. Should the OP expect applause for posting an off-topic rant, particularly one that indicates by its title that it's an issue that's been hashed out to death here anyway?

". . . on their way to the local park MUP so they can buzz walkers .."
so, is the OP a bit presumptious and judgmental from the start? and expecting some love from a commuting forum. . .?

On my way back from my lunch hour (driving today) I encounter 2 roadies on their way to the local park MUP so they can buzz walkers and as I get closer to them they get 2 wide in the middle of the lane. Now we're on a little residential side street with a 30mph speed limit and I'm the only driver on the road so whatever. As I get ready to pass them the guy on the left starts looking over his left hand should for me and can't seem to ride straight while doing so. So every time he looks at me he swerves across the center line. I get the front of my car almost even with them and he swerves. And as we all know the proper thing to do if you're on the bike is to look at the driver like he's an idiot and motion him on (swerving while you do it of course) So these guys can't even ride in the same direction as a car on a road 2 full lanes wide, how do they not hit people on a bike path thats only 6' across?
I want 20 seconds of my life back! I was waiting for something and it never came. Those guys where probably on their way back from pizza and beer! Probably too much beer!

Two bikes, one car, eh? Sounds like they were moving at the speed of traffic. What's the problem?

I am impressed with OP's superior automobile skills! I reckon he displayed the lightning fast reflexes and precise maneuvering skills of a Formula One race car driver! I wish I could've been there to see it!
I am dismayed that you left out details that would have made this an epic thread, though. You never said whether or not the cyclists were wearing helmets or not. That is truly a grievous oversight on your part!
Perhaps you should find a different route between "lunch" and work, so that you can stop annoying the cyclists by driving on their road.

From its placement in the story it would seem that way but a coworker and I watched them for probably 10 minutes out our window so I had actually observed them buzzing walkers and joggers.

How is it possible to observe cyclists who are in motion ("buzzing walkers and joggers")...for "probably 10 minutes"...from a stationary position?

Man... if I complained about every stupid maneuver I see motorists doing on a daily basis BF would be overwhelmed with my whining. Being that I no longer commute perhaps I should stick to Foo and the road cycling forum. At least in road cycling they complain about more important things like the color of your saddle.

Yeah, I don't understand the hatred being leveled at the OP here. He pointed out a cyclist he noticed being a tool, what does it matter whether he was driving or riding his bike when he noticed it? Just because I commute by bike, doesn't mean I completely absolve all cyclists everywhere of riding like idiots.

OP, we have all seen others bikers doing something stupid. The problem with posting here is that you were in your car, and most feel that in it's self is enough to attack you. The real shame is that if this guy had gone down you would have been blamed, right or wrong.

Just reading the whiney rants in the Advocacy & Safety forum are enough to make me not like us anymore.
And HOW DARE YOU criticize we holy cyclists who do not emit carbon monoxide and are therefore not subject to your petty vehicle codes. < / smirk>
