Where'd you go? I was up in SW Wisconsin a few weeks ago and didn't get any riding in. I put a lot of miles on my motorcycles in southern Wisconsin over the years, and would have kept it if I lived north of the cheddar curtain.

Based out of Fontana, on the west end of Lake Geneva, I probably did most of the roads within a 20 mile distance in any direction. I even took my kid over to the White River Trail for two afternoons. I was getting a bit tired of the whole Lake Geneva thing, until I started bringing my road bike up there last year. Once you get a mile away from the lake, it is desolate rural farm roads, most of them in good to excellent condition. In some areas, I would get passed by a car maybe once an hour. I turned a corner on one spot, and rode pristine asphalt, newly laid with the last year or two, for about 10 miles without seeing another human, be they sitting, standing, walking, or driving a car. Just me going down the middle of the road without a care nor pothole in sight.

:thumb: Did you make it up H to LaGrange and Backyard Bikes? What a great place to stop.

I didn't quite stray that far north. It was so much easier to to go south and west to find desolate roads. But perhaps this fall I will. Thanks for the idea.

He's got a map showing some road and trail rides (they're just south of the southern tip of the south unit of the Kettle Morriane State Park), and the attached store has a deli/coffee shop - with takeout beer. It's a popular place for both bicyclists and motorcyclists.
