Need Trustworthy Stats on Bike Commuting!

If anyone knows of anywhere I can find trustworthy info to use in a college paper on the pros (and possible cons, have to show both points, but prove or disprove my thesis) of commuter cycling in metro areas, please let me know. I'm looking for statistics, scholarly papers done, or very trustworthy (and as unbiased as possible) websites. Thanks!

Asking the experts is always good. Check the stickies at the top of the main page. Also www.commutebybike.com

Good luck

I don't know any scholarly work, but you may want to look overseas for some information as it seems more common over their.

Also, what is your thesis? Commuting as a viable mode of transportation in urban areas? Helmets save lives, or government conspiracy? The relationship between dumb rednecks in pickups and bike snobs in rural areas? Do or do not; there is no try in taking the lane? Ninja versus Fred, duel for the ages? You also might want to look in the advocacy and safety forum.

https://www.bicyclinginfo.org/why/

Loaded with links to scholarly works, studies, etc. on several topics related to cycling. Dig around in there for a while.

Hope this helps.
