New digs, new commute

I moved on Monday.

Today's comic on The System says it all.

I'm up early, so maybe I'll take the long loop to work today.

I just did the same thing. It will make the extremely humid summer afternoon rides home better as they will be shorter. It will also make the extremely colds winter days rides shorter. You can always extend either the ride in or home depending upon weather and you can go home and switch to a road or MBT bike for a more fun ride. I think in the end I will bike commute on a lot of days I might not have as the weather would make a long ride too brutal for a work day.

But the one bad thing for me is that I was living in an area that had nothing but wide, smooth, quiet roads for one that has narrow, rough, busy roads. I can still get to those nice roads but it will entail a half an hour of traffic dodging to get there.
