Being Sick Sucketh...

Caught a bug at college, and was doing ok until Wednesday. Managed to get home without puking on my handlebars, but I've been caging since then, and will tomorrow as well.

Hoping to restart riding commute on Tuesday.

Just posting for an appeal to sympathy

If you are that sick, stay out of the cage. Stay home and get better.

In case you haven't heard there is this thing going around by the name of Swine Flu. Its HIGHLY contagious. Keep your butt home instead of spreading it around. I'm not trying to be a wise guy but why do folks insist on going to work when they are really sick (i'm not talking about a cold) it only continues to spread around to more and more. Its not called a pandemic for no reason. Prudent hygiene should be practice also. A study done in Mexico concluded the best way to help keep the spread of the flu around was to wash your hands. Most people touch something that has been touched by a sick person (ie) a door knob is usually the biggest culprit, then they get the bug. Wash long enough to sing the Happy Birthday song twice and then use the paper towel used to dry your hands to turn off the water and then use it to open the door. This stuff works. Oh yeah and get some of that gel stuff that has alchohol in it when you can't wash . Better yet just stay home for a couple of days.

I had a cold during my summer semester. Somehow I felt better when I was riding.

stringbreaker, I caught this at school, from other people already sick and coming in to classes and work-study jobs. It's not the current, pandemic strain of H1N1, it's just a plain old virus of unknown origin being passed around on a college campus. I wash my hands so often I have to use moisturizer to keep the skin from breaking.

I'm a volunteer tutor as well as a math department work-study tutor/gofer. I get to visit with the most "interesting" people in the tutoring center, some of whom have obviously not bathed for a while. *sigh*

Meantime, I'm feeling a bit better after a day's work around the apartment, and finishing prep work for classes tomorrow. If I didn't have an appointment after school I can't get to quick enough on my bike, I'd think about riding in tomorrow. Oh well, Tuesday I'll be back on the saddle and feeling better for the fresh air.
